Steve Spencer, Development Director

Steve began his IT career in the late 80s working for GEC Plessey Telecommunications (GPT). During his 7 years at GPT he carried out a number of roles including testing, product support and software development. He developed software for small office telephone systems as well as PC base video conferencing.

BCS LogoSteve spent 5 years at CITEL Technologies a specialist in Computer Telephony integration where he became the Software Development manager. After a short stint running his own business he spent a couple of years working for Claricom where he was involved with inventing a new patented method of printing encrypted codes at high speed to help fight counterfeiting and grey market exporting.

Steve has an Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree and gained a Masters degree in Interactive Computer System Design from Loughborough University. Steve is a member of the British Computer Society as well as a Chartered Engineer.

In July 2010 Steve was awarded Certified Professional Scrum Master and Scrum Developer.

As Black Marble’s Development Director, he is responsible for all software development projects, implementing development procedures & delivering high quality innovative solutions.
